Dr. Franklin
Once I was talking the other day to a group of Chemisty majors and none of them knew who Dr. Franklin was!! The woman was cheated out of a Nobel prize because she was a woman! She was partly responsible for the discovery of the double Helix shape of the DNA molecule. She used X-rays to find a model of the structure. The constant radiation led to her early death at 37 from cancer. However, four years later three men won the Nobel Prize for the discovery and never gave her any credit.
